Request Account Deletion

You can delete your BookNPC account and all associated data directly from the app.

⚠️ Important: Cancel Subscriptions First

If you have an active ad-free subscription, you must cancel it in your App Store or Google Play settings before deleting your account. Deleting your BookNPC account does NOT cancel your subscription billing.

What Will Be Deleted

  • Your BookNPC account and login credentials
  • Credit balance (any remaining credits will be forfeited)

Local Data

When you delete your account through the app, your local data (books, reading progress, settings) is automatically cleared. You can also uninstall the app to remove any remaining cache.

What May Be Retained

  • Transaction records for legal and tax compliance (retained for 7 years as required by law)
  • Anonymized usage analytics (retained for 90 days)
  • Support tickets and communications (retained for 1 year for customer service purposes)

Note: While your credit balance will be forfeited, transaction records (purchases, refunds) must be retained for legal compliance but contain no personal identifying information after account deletion.

How to Delete Your Account

Step 1: Open Settings

Open the BookNPC app and go to Settings (the gear icon in the bottom tab bar).

Step 2: Danger Zone

Scroll to the bottom of Settings and find the Danger Zone section.

Step 3: Delete Account

Tap "Request Account Deletion" and follow the confirmation prompts. You will need to type DELETE to confirm.

If you cannot access the app, you can still request deletion by emailing support@booknpc.com from your registered email address with the subject "BookNPC Account Deletion Request".

What Happens Next

Your account data is deleted immediately from our servers
Local data on your device is automatically cleared
You will be signed out of the app

Account deletion is processed immediately. Some records may be retained for legal compliance as described above.

Before You Delete

⚠️ This Action Is Permanent

Once your account is deleted, you will lose:

  • Your login access to BookNPC
  • Any remaining credit balance (forfeited)
  • Access to any premium features
  • Active subscriptions will continue billing unless cancelled in App Store/Google Play

Remember: Local data is automatically cleared when you delete your account through the app. You can also uninstall the app to remove any remaining cache.

This cannot be undone. If you change your mind, you'll need to create a new account and start over.
